ASSEMBLY OF THE FIGHTING ARTS CHAMPION TOURNAMENT KARATE RATINGS The Ultimate in Martial Arts Competition
Dates for 2008 Tournaments Thanks to all that participated in our tournaments this year!
GENERAL INFORMATION - A.F.A.C.T. Ratings Season runs from January 1st - December 31st. - Each year A.F.A.C.T. Ratings will run and/or approve 6-8 tournaments; the more you compete, the more points you will receive. - There is no fee for joining A.F.A.C.T. Ratings. Once you compete in a tournament rated with A.F.A.C.T. Ratings, you will automatically become a member. - You should ALWAYS enter the division for your current rank & age. Your points will accru to the age you were as of January 1st of the current season. We do this so every competitors points will be stored in one location and every competitor will receive an equal opportunity to earn the most points. A.F.A.C.T. Ratings will hold an awards banquet each year around February for the previous years accomphishments. A.F.A.C.T. RATINGS POINT SYSTEM COMPETITOR POINT INFORMATION A.F.A.C.T. Rated Tournaments 1st Place = 40, 2nd Place = 30, 3rd Place = 25, 4th Place = 20, 5th-8th Place = 10 Points, 9th-Last Place = 4 Points A.F.A.C.T. Approved Tournaments 1st Place = 20, 2nd Place = 15, 3rd Place = 10, 4th Place = 10, 5th-8th Place = 5 Points, 9th-Last Place = 2 Points - You will need to notify Roseann Fusco via email within 10 days of competing in an A.F.A.C.T. Approved Tournament in order for those points to be added to A.F.A.C.T. Ratings database. Please provide the division(s) you competed in, (Kataform, Fighting, Weapons) along with the place you were awarded. Please keep track of each A.F.A.C.T. Rated and A.F.A.C.T. Approved Tournament that you compete in.
A.F.A.C.T. Ratings 2008 Spectator/Competitors/Guests Code of Conduct Rules DO NOT ENTER THE GYM IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO ABIDE BY THE FOLLOWING! Any behavior deemed negative or disrespectful will result in disqualification of the competitor, all fees will be forfeited and the competitor will be suspended from the next 2 A.F.A.C.T. Rated tournaments immediately following the disqualification. At the judges, scorekeepers, arbitrator or A.F.A.C.T. personnel’s request the competitor may be disqualified from ALL future A.F.A.C.T. Rated Events. Negative comments or behaviors toward any competitor, judge, A.F.A.C.T. personnel or spectator will NOT be tolerated and will result in immediate disqualification of the competitor that the offender is at the event for. If we feel your behavior is unacceptable, we will ask you to leave once & only once. If you choose NOT to leave, the police will be called. When police are called, charges will press if applicable. Please keep in mind the following codes on conduct: I and my guests will be a positive role model and will encourage sportsmanship by showing respect, courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for ALL competitors, coaches, officials, and spectators. I and my guests will teach that by doing one’s best is more important than winning, so that the competitor will never feel defeated by the outcome of a competition or his/her performance. I and my guests will praise the competitor for competing fairly and trying hard. I and my guests will respect the officials and their authority. If I have a question or concern, I will respectfully ask the official for their advice/opinion/comments AFTER the division is completed. I and my guests will play by the rules and resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence. I understand that it is my responsibility to learn the A.F.A.C.T. Ratings rules prior to all events. I and my guests will NOT engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player or parent such as booing, taunting; refusing to shake hands; profane language or gestures or any behavior deemed disrespectful. I and my guests will NOT encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well being of the attendees. I and my guests will NOT ridicule or yell at anyone for making a mistake or losing a competition. I and my guests will NOT enter the ring at any time unless requested by an official.
